Vegan Beauty Cosmetics - Galaxy Like Glitter Collection

Image
*PR Sample* Hi Everyone, I can't believe it's been a month since I last blogged...I have been focussing on my youtube channel a lot recently but thought it was time I wrote another post. I was very honoured to be chosen by Effiena of Vegan Beauty Cosmetics to swatch her new polish collection - Galaxy Like Glitter. This collection is made up of 4 polishes that can be built up to full coverage or can be used as a topper over a base colour which can again be built up to your preference. I have swatched these over black and then each one over another colour. All my pictures show 1 coat of the base colour, 2 coats of the glitter and top coat. I will give all my opinions of these polishes at the end. Purple Haze - this is an Indigo/Blue/Fuchsia glitter with a touch of gold - in these pictures the blue comes out more but there is definitely a purple tone in other lights.  Here I have swatched over a dusky purple colour. Golden Earth - a Gr...

Poundland Make Up Gallery Nail Polish

Image
Happy Sunday Nail Lovelies. A few weeks back I was in Poundland and I thought while I was there I would grab a few polishes and bits to review, for £1 each I thought i'd have a try. I settled on 3 of the pastel creme colours, a glitter, the base/top coat and a cuticle oil so in total £6 which is less that 1 of my favourite indie polishes! I started by applying the glitter to my little and index finger - I did this over a peel off base coat because I hate glitter removal! Peel off bases are amazing invention, I am currently using the Miss Sporty one which I have found pretty good, I don't really have the same polish on for long enough to do a good wear test though! Anyway the glitter I chose was a clear/silver holo, very pretty and very sparkly and I did like how it looked over my peach acrylics. I used 3 thin coats to build up a decent coverage, it wasn't full coverage but it was enough for me. If you wanted full coverage I would build it up with a sponge. I thi...

The Edge Nail FX Soak off gel Review and Swatches

Image
Hi everyone, So the lovely people at The Edge Nails sent me some of their gel polish range to review. These are a solvent free 100% pure gel so great for the natural nail. They retail at £8.95 +VAT I got sent a base and top coat plus 2 surprise colours. As with all gel polishes you need to prep the nails before you start - remove all traces of polish push back cuticles and make sure the nail is clean of excess skin then dehydrate the nail using acetone or a gel wipe off - this is an important step to ensure your nail is free of any oils which can affect the longevity of your manicure. Now you can apply a thin coat of base coat and cure for 2 mins in a UV lamp or 1 min in a LED (I have acrylic overlays so don't need a base coat but I desperately need to do my infills so did use the base to protect the nail at the cuticle) I then applied 2 thin coats of colour curing each layer for 1 min in my LED lamp (2 in UV) and finally topped with the topcat and cured (1 min LE...

Femme Fatale Swatches

Image
Hi Nail Buddies, Hope you are all having a good week. I have some swatches for you tonight from a brand that is relatively new to me! I actually cant believe I am so late to the party with this brand because there are some stunning polishes. Femme Fatale is a 3 free Australian indie brand and one thing I have noticed is they make some beautiful thermal polishes. I have 4 polishes to show you and they are all Rainbow Connection exclusives - 2 have been released quite recently and the other 2 were from earlier this year. First up is Wine and Dandy -  http://rainbow-connection.co.uk/collections/femme-fatale-cosmetics/products/wine-and-dandy-store-exclusive This is a deep aubergine purple with rainbow glitter particles, it is so sparkly and a great shade going into autumn/winter. Prim and Copper -  http://rainbow-connection.co.uk/collections/femme-fatale-cosmetics/products/prim-and-copper-store-exclusive This is more of a deep mauve shade with a gorgeous gold...
