Ard As Nails - Wake Me Up Before You Glow Jo Collection

Hi Everyone,

I have some swatches for you today of an amazing collection I had been lusting over for a long time which I was finally able to afford recently.

This is a collection from a UK Indie brand and as a UK blogger it's important to me to support the UK indies so I hope to have more in the coming months from other UK brands.

So the brand is Ard as Nails and the collection is the recent Neons - the Wake me up Before you Glow Jo collection and from the swatches I had seen I had to get them because they all looked amazing.


This post is going to be very picture heavy because I have swatches and nail art etc but I will give my views at the end along with all the relevant links.

There are 5 neons in this collection and under a blacklight they really do glow!!

Oi Blondie - Neon Yellow

Walking on Sunshine - Neon Green

Sponged using all 5 polishes and added stamping using Uberchic Texture-Licious 02 & Twinkled T Vibin'

So there are all my swatches of this collection and I can honestly say they are as good as they look in the pictures.

The Info

  • I applied 2 thin coats and it applied beautifully.
  • You don't need to work thickly because the coverage was great.
  • They dried quickly 
  • No need for a white base they 'POP' on their own
  • I added Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat for the high shine finish (would look good matte too)
  • £5 each or £22 for the collection from here
The stamping plate, stamping polishes, stamper and top coat were all from Rainbow Connection

Finally....
I used these to watermarble a base for the nails I created for a cancer awareness collaboration on Instagram - 
they watermarble really well!





I definitely recommend this collection - it is perfect for summer and there are endless possibilities for looks you can create with them, I now have my sights set on the new Cocktail Collection - yes I can honestly say I need them in my life and probably a few more.

Barry M Molten Metal Swatches

Hello Again, Today on my blog I have swatches of the 5 new Barry M Molten Metal polishes. I never tried the original 4 which were released last year but I decided I liked the look of these so would give them a try. I got them on 2 for £7 from Boots but they are also available from Superdrug (I will leave links below) Barry M are probably my favourite high street brand and I like a lot of their finishes and different effects. What I also loved about these are the big, flat brushes because I really find they help get an even coat across the nail in minimal brush strokes. As with all the Barry M polishes I have tried I couldn't find any fault with the formula - they applied like a dream, I'd forgotten just how much I like them if I'm honest - they are just as amazing as some of my favourite indie brands. Poundland Make Up Gallery Nail Polish

Happy Sunday Nail Lovelies. A few weeks back I was in Poundland and I thought while I was there I would grab a few polishes and bits to review, for £1 each I thought i'd have a try. I settled on 3 of the pastel creme colours, a glitter, the base/top coat and a cuticle oil so in total £6 which is less that 1 of my favourite indie polishes! I started by applying the glitter to my little and index finger - I did this over a peel off base coat because I hate glitter removal! Peel off bases are amazing invention, I am currently using the Miss Sporty one which I have found pretty good, I don't really have the same polish on for long enough to do a good wear test though! Anyway the glitter I chose was a clear/silver holo, very pretty and very sparkly and I did like how it looked over my peach acrylics. Stamping Decals on my Uberchic Mat

Happy Sunday Nail Girls. Hope you are having a great weekend! Today I am blogging about one of my newest purchases but definitely a favourite. Last week the lovely Sarah of She Sells Seashells announced she had stocked the new Uberchic Mat (plates are coming soon) so I knew I had to get one as I was wary of ordering direct as I know a lot of UK girls have had custom charges and for £11 it was a no brainer! So this mat is silicon and perfect for making decals, testing polishes, comparing colours, swatches and I'm sure lots of other things, Its also safe to use acetone on so easy to clean up but the dried polish just peels right off. So here's what I did - 1st I used my Leighton Denny one for all to paint in the nails on the mat, you can see in the picture where I have polished, This is the top of the decal and means it will peel right off.
