Painted Polish - Stamped in Spring Swatches

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would take a break from my stamping plate swatches and do some stamping polishes instead!!

I recently got the 5 new Painted Polish stamping cremes from Rainbow Connection so I thought I would give them a good testing with various plates and stampers in my collection.



So lets get straight into it -

The stampers I tested with were -
2 in 1 clear crystal embellished, Creative Shop Space Stamper, Fab ur Nails Jumbo Squishy and The Bunny Stamper - all from Rainbow Connection.

I tested with the following plates - 
  • Uberchic - Unicorn Love
  • Bundle Monster - BM-XL217 - Tanya Wish collaboration
  • Fab ur Nails - FUN14
  • Creative Shop - 45
All the swatches on my hand are over black and white and the polish swatches are 1 coat - the pinky left matte and the index finger has top coat.


Stamped in Mint
Stamping is Creative Shop plate and Stamper and I found this needed a firmer scrape than I normally do.
Grey - Uberchic & Fab ur Nails Jumbo
Pink - Bundle Monster & Clear - this needed the lightest touch to pick up
Purple - Fab ur Nails and Bunny

Stamped in Guava
 Uberchic & Clear Stamper
Pink - Creative Shop & Bunny - I found this combination needed a firm scrape
Grey - Bundle Monster & Fab ur Nails
Purple - Fab ur Nails & Creative Shop - this combination also needed a firmer scrape

Stamped in Peach
 Fab ur Nails & Fab ur Nails
Pink - Bundle Monster & Bunny
Grey - Creative Shop & Clear
Purple - Uberchic & Creative Shop

Stamped in Starfruit
 Bundle Monster & Creative Shop

So there are all my swatches.
I tested these with every combination and I always got a pick up, however there were a few combinations I needed to adjust my technique slightly - with the clear stamper I found it needed the lightest touch when picking up and the creative shop plate needed a much firmer scrape so I applied a bit more polish but other than that it was pretty much my normal technique which is - 
  • Wipe one side of brush in bottle neck
  • Apply line of polish from un wiped side
  • Quick scrape applying minimal pressure - scraper on plate but not pressing down
  • Roll stamper over image without pressing (using a light touch)
  • Stamp!
I find 90% of the time this gets results for me.

The polishes themselves are slightly thicker but not to the point they are hard to apply so they really are great 1 coater polishes, they level nicely and weren't streaky at all. They are pigmented but I found they cleaned up well and didn't leave any staining (I forgot Zap!!)

Hello Again, Today on my blog I have swatches of the 5 new Barry M Molten Metal polishes. I never tried the original 4 which were released last year but I decided I liked the look of these so would give them a try. I got them on 2 for £7 from Boots but they are also available from Superdrug (I will leave links below) Barry M are probably my favourite high street brand and I like a lot of their finishes and different effects. What I also loved about these are the big, flat brushes because I really find they help get an even coat across the nail in minimal brush strokes. As with all the Barry M polishes I have tried I couldn't find any fault with the formula - they applied like a dream, I'd forgotten just how much I like them if I'm honest - they are just as amazing as some of my favourite indie brands. Poundland Make Up Gallery Nail Polish

Happy Sunday Nail Lovelies. A few weeks back I was in Poundland and I thought while I was there I would grab a few polishes and bits to review, for £1 each I thought i'd have a try. I settled on 3 of the pastel creme colours, a glitter, the base/top coat and a cuticle oil so in total £6 which is less that 1 of my favourite indie polishes! I started by applying the glitter to my little and index finger - I did this over a peel off base coat because I hate glitter removal! Peel off bases are amazing invention, I am currently using the Miss Sporty one which I have found pretty good, I don't really have the same polish on for long enough to do a good wear test though! Anyway the glitter I chose was a clear/silver holo, very pretty and very sparkly and I did like how it looked over my peach acrylics. Stamping Decals on my Uberchic Mat

Happy Sunday Nail Girls. Hope you are having a great weekend! Today I am blogging about one of my newest purchases but definitely a favourite. Last week the lovely Sarah of She Sells Seashells announced she had stocked the new Uberchic Mat (plates are coming soon) so I knew I had to get one as I was wary of ordering direct as I know a lot of UK girls have had custom charges and for £11 it was a no brainer! So this mat is silicon and perfect for making decals, testing polishes, comparing colours, swatches and I'm sure lots of other things, Its also safe to use acetone on so easy to clean up but the dried polish just peels right off. So here's what I did - 1st I used my Leighton Denny one for all to paint in the nails on the mat, you can see in the picture where I have polished, This is the top of the decal and means it will peel right off.
