The Edge Nail FX Soak off gel Review and Swatches

Image
Hi everyone, So the lovely people at The Edge Nails sent me some of their gel polish range to review. These are a solvent free 100% pure gel so great for the natural nail. They retail at £8.95 +VAT I got sent a base and top coat plus 2 surprise colours. As with all gel polishes you need to prep the nails before you start - remove all traces of polish push back cuticles and make sure the nail is clean of excess skin then dehydrate the nail using acetone or a gel wipe off - this is an important step to ensure your nail is free of any oils which can affect the longevity of your manicure. Now you can apply a thin coat of base coat and cure for 2 mins in a UV lamp or 1 min in a LED (I have acrylic overlays so don't need a base coat but I desperately need to do my infills so did use the base to protect the nail at the cuticle) I then applied 2 thin coats of colour curing each layer for 1 min in my LED lamp (2 in UV) and finally topped with the topcat and cured (1 min LE

Itsy Nails DuraPro Gel Effect Polish review

Hi lovelies, I was very lucky to be sent some polishes from Itsy Nails to review, these polishes are their alternative to UV gel polish, they finish to a high shine and the formula is self leveling to give you a flawless finish to your manicure and the flat wide brush aids the application. I was sent 3 polishes to try and looking at the colours in the bottle I knew these were going to look fab on the nails. I also love the bag these come in as it really adds that luxury, boutique feel. Drop Red Gorgeous - No Fear - Green with Envy The Itsy website says you don't need a base coat for these polishes and they are fully opaque in 2 coats and if you wish you can add top coat. They do finish to a really glossy finish so if you like a quick and easy manicure then these polishes are perfect for you because you can get away without top coat (I did use one though) So here are my swatches - Green with Envy is a beautiful spring grass green, It's bright but it's still e

Candy Coat Swatches and Review

Happy Friday Nail Peeps, I was lucky enough to be sent some polishes from Candy Coat to try recently - this is a gel polish brand I have been eyeing up for a while now so I was very excited when they offered to send me some. Along with their Pick 'n' Mix shop where you can buy the colours you want they also offer 2 monthly boxes - a subscription box which each month comes with 3 gels and additional goodies or  a colour box which each month comes with 10 must have colours and a top and base coat. I got to choose 2 colours to try and there are so many to choose from it was a tough choice but eventually I managed it. I also got sent a top and base coat. My 1st thought when I received my box was how beautifully packaged it was, the box is really cute and the bottles were in little paper bags which reminded me of my holidays! These are the goodies I received - a dusky rose (075) a baby blue - had to have a blue! (025) base coat (black bottle) and top coat (white bottle)
