Sugar Bubbles SB049 Swatches and Decal Tutorial

Image
Hi Lovelies, I hope you are having a good week? I have another stamping swatch post for you today plus a tutorial for making your own decals. Last week I purchased a new Sugar Bubbles stamping plate from  Rainbow Connection  because the minute I saw it I knew I needed it. This plate is full of 80s and 90s cartoon characters and as I grew up watching some of these there was no way I could not get this. The characters include Care Bears, My Little Pony, Doug, Rugrats and lots more and there is so much detail in these images. I like the Sugar Bubbles plates because they are so detailed and well etched but I do find with some of the finer lines cotton wool gets caught so I just run over with my finger to clean it. I always use a quick, firm scrape with these plates and I find with my trusty Sticky Fab ur Nails stamper I always get great results. I did these swatches on swatch sticks and for anyone who wishes to know the background polishes are all 6 from the Bundle Monster

Creative Shop 22 - Swatches and Review

Image
Hi Lovelies, Hope you are all well. The lovely Annette from Rainbow Connection sent me some plates to swatch recently and I was very excited when I received them as I haven't tried the Creative Shop plates yet so I was keen to do a thorough swatch and review. The plates each have 14 good sized images and they are big enough for my longer nails which is always a bonus (I have just filed my nails a bit shorter though) Some of the images had very thin intricate lines which can sometimes be trickier to pick up so I was keen to see how these did. The plate I'm showing you today is 22 which has some beautiful floral images - its a very feminine plate in my opinion and I really like it. I also found when I took the clear film off the images were well etched.  I decided to 1st test the plate with various polishes and stampers to see if there were any combinations didn't work. I tested with the following polishes - EDK - Teddy EDK - Carina Colour Alike - B a Venu

Color Club Stamping Plate Swatches

Image
Hi my lovely nail buddies, Tonight I have swatches of one of the new Color Club stamping plates which I purchased from  Rainbow Connection , I decided to get one of these plates because I'd seen mixed reviews about them and wanted to make my own judgement. After looking through all the plates available I settled on India - I think this was largely due to the fact I had Magpie Glitter India on at the time!! The plates cost £8.50 and have 12 good sized images on them The 1st thing I noticed about this plate when I took the plastic off was that it isn't very deeply etched and sometimes plates like this can be a little trickier to pick up so I decided to play around with different polish and stamper combinations to see which worked best before I swatched. All the products I used were from RC. So I tested 1st using my short clear jelly stamper, fab ur nails jumbo sticky stamper and creative shop space stamper. I also used my Messy Mansion scraper which is a bit thicker

Dixie Plates DP05 swatches and review

Image
Happy Wednesday readers, I have some swatches today of a new plate I got last week and its the new Dixie Plate. Dixie Plates is the fab new stamping brand created by the amazing Kate Dix (DixieGirl) and I love them. Currently there are 5 plates in the collection and I do have them all but today I am focusing on the newest plate which is the Halloween and Celebrations plate. I got my plate in the UK from the equally amazing Sarah Richardson (The Real Mrs Grey) who now has her own shop NailStampingQueenUK  (she was selling through etsy) where you can get all the Dixie Plate range plus other stamping and nail art goodies. So this is the plate and it is full of fantastic images. This post is all about these great halloween images And here are my swatches - This shows the skulls stamped on black with white and then all the others are stamped with black. I love the skeleton image on my little finger and the grim reaper over green. The moon and bats are stamped in white o

Poundland Make Up Gallery Nail Polish

Happy Sunday Nail Lovelies. A few weeks back I was in Poundland and I thought while I was there I would grab a few polishes and bits to review, for £1 each I thought i'd have a try. I settled on 3 of the pastel creme colours, a glitter, the base/top coat and a cuticle oil so in total £6 which is less that 1 of my favourite indie polishes! I started by applying the glitter to my little and index finger - I did this over a peel off base coat because I hate glitter removal! Peel off bases are amazing invention, I am currently using the Miss Sporty one which I have found pretty good, I don't really have the same polish on for long enough to do a good wear test though! Anyway the glitter I chose was a clear/silver holo, very pretty and very sparkly and I did like how it looked over my peach acrylics. I used 3 thin coats to build up a decent coverage, it wasn't full coverage but it was enough for me. If you wanted full coverage I would build it up with a sponge. I thi
