Stamping Decals on my Uberchic Mat

Image
Happy Sunday Nail Girls. Hope you are having a great weekend! Today I am blogging about one of my newest purchases but definitely a favourite. Last week the lovely Sarah of She Sells Seashells announced she had stocked the new Uberchic Mat (plates are coming soon) so I knew I had to get one as I was wary of ordering direct as I know a lot of UK girls have had custom charges and for £11 it was a no brainer! So this mat is silicon and perfect for making decals, testing polishes, comparing colours, swatches and I'm sure lots of other things, Its also safe to use acetone on so easy to clean up but the dried polish just peels right off. So here's what I did - 1st I used my Leighton Denny one for all to paint in the nails on the mat, you can see in the picture where I have polished, This is the top of the decal and means it will peel right off. While they were drying - they need to be completely dry, I got my other bits out. For this I used Fab Ur Nails FUN14 plate...

Confession of a CBL addict - part 1

Image
Hi everyone, Sorry I have been a bit absent work has been manic and my poor nails have been a bit neglected! My post today is about this amazing American indie brand that I was introduced to a few months ago - Colors by Llarowe. Well all I can say about this brand is the colours are stunning and if like me you have an addiction to holo polish this is a must try brand. It is available in the UK from Rainbow Connection   http://rainbow-connection.co.uk/  and they also have an amazing selection of other indie brands too, if you have never shopped there I definitely recommend checking it out. Today I got the new limited edition CBL Miss Independent collection Red, white and blue for American independence day. The red is called Little Miss Independent and reminds me of Dorothys ruby slippers. It's has very fine glitter particles but because they are so fine it dries to an almost smooth finish This swatch shows 2 coats with top coat The blue is called Living the ...

Homemade Sheer Tints

Hi everyone it's finally here my 1st post! I'm going to share with you how I made my own sheer tint polishes. Although you can get these from opi, sally hansen and some indie brands so far I haven't managed to find colours I like so decided to have a go at making my own. Sheer Tints are great for nail art especially as a base for stamping or to colour in an image and in my opinion a must have for any nail addict! I got some clear nail polish from eBay £2.99 +99p postage for 6 - I love these heart bottles! I then used polishes from my models own collection. I wanted to make sure I had a blue, yellow, orange, green, pink and purple so the polish for tans and festival collections were perfect for this. I put 5 drops of polish in to get the shade I wanted but you can play around with this. It looks like it's never going to make a tint but give it a good shake and job done! They look a bit cloudy in the bottle but are perfect on the nail. I did...
