Indie Brand of the Week 4 - Freckles Polish

Happy October Readers,

October is my favourite month and I'm planning lots of blogging this month but 1st - Indie Brand of the week.
This week features one of my favourite UK indie brands Freckles Polish - created by the lovely Julieann.
Julieann makes some of the most beautiful 4 free, cruelty free holo polishes and lots more and I have also been lucky enough to create a collaboration shade in her birthday celebrations earlier this year.

I love supporting UK indies and there is a lot of colour choice with Freckles and they are very reasonably priced.

The polishes I have to show you today are from her latest collection - The Pitch Perfect Collection.
I treated myself to 3 of these but I think I need more!


So 1st up is I Have Nodes - This is a beautiful Aquamarine holo polish with silver sparkles - I'm thinking frozen nail art for winter!


This is Whomp there it is a Lilac Scattered Holo again with silver sparkles - again I'm liking this for some winter nail art!


And finally I got Fat Amy a pink scattered holo polish


*All my pictures were taken in a light box without a flash. But in the right light you really pick up the holo. (I wish I'd taken pictures with flash too!)

So they were my newest Freckles but I have a lot more and I love them all. I definitely recommend trying Freckles if you haven't already especially if like me your a holo lover.

Barry M Molten Metal Swatches

Hello Again, Today on my blog I have swatches of the 5 new Barry M Molten Metal polishes. I never tried the original 4 which were released last year but I decided I liked the look of these so would give them a try. I got them on 2 for £7 from Boots but they are also available from Superdrug (I will leave links below) Barry M are probably my favourite high street brand and I like a lot of their finishes and different effects. What I also loved about these are the big, flat brushes because I really find they help get an even coat across the nail in minimal brush strokes. As with all the Barry M polishes I have tried I couldn't find any fault with the formula - they applied like a dream, I'd forgotten just how much I like them if I'm honest - they are just as amazing as some of my favourite indie brands. So the swatches - Blue Glacier - Well you must know me and blues by now and this one has definitely got the thumbs up from me! I think the name sums it up perfect

Poundland Make Up Gallery Nail Polish

Happy Sunday Nail Lovelies. A few weeks back I was in Poundland and I thought while I was there I would grab a few polishes and bits to review, for £1 each I thought i'd have a try. I settled on 3 of the pastel creme colours, a glitter, the base/top coat and a cuticle oil so in total £6 which is less that 1 of my favourite indie polishes! I started by applying the glitter to my little and index finger - I did this over a peel off base coat because I hate glitter removal! Peel off bases are amazing invention, I am currently using the Miss Sporty one which I have found pretty good, I don't really have the same polish on for long enough to do a good wear test though! Anyway the glitter I chose was a clear/silver holo, very pretty and very sparkly and I did like how it looked over my peach acrylics. How to apply Magpie Products

It's a new week and I hope you all have some gorgeous manicures planned. I was meant to post this on Friday but things got in the way but at least I am posting!! I will get on top of my blogging schedule soon...I promise!! So as a nail technician I like to use lots of different products and currently one of my most popular is Magpie Beauty glitters and dusts. These are the most amazing sparkly products that can really bling up a manicure, they are fab so today I'm going to show you how I use them with gel polish. I am going to show the application technique for glitter, dust and pigments. Here are the products I am using -  Gel Polish in Black, White and Pale Green  Magpie Products - Dust - Olive, Glitter - Eartha, Pigment - Izzy I only used my applicator and duster brush but I also have the detailer brush.
