Paint the Rainbow Box December

Hi Lovelies,

Sorry I have been a bit MIA recently between starting a new job and Christmas prep I have been spreading myself a little thin and haven't had chance to write this post but finally here it is.

The final PTR box of December and it really is another goody. This month was all about Christmas movies and lets be honest who doesn't spend most of December watching Christmas films!


So joining our PTR residents Colors by Llarowe and Bear Pawlish this month were Cupcake Polish, Lilypad Lacquer and UK Indie Dark Metal Laquer in a box that finished off the year perfectly


First from Dark Metal Lacquer is a hot chocolate brown holo with gold flakies inspired by Love Actually. This polish is called To me you are Perfect.


Lilypad Lacquer created this amazing baby lilac holo inspired by The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about Christmas called Magic in the Air.


It wouldn't be Christmas without a bit of gold and this is a very sophisticated and easy to weal gold, as soon as I saw it I knew it would be beautiful on - think high end luxury wrapping paper that's how gorgeous it is. This polish from Bear Pawlish was inspired by The Polar Express and is called Tickets Please.



Back for a 2nd time is Cupcake Polish with a fab magenta holo inspired by Bad Santa, aptly named Bad Santa. This is definitely a Christmas colour and a great alternative to red.



Finally Colors by Llarowe took inspiration from How the Grinch Stole Christmas with this muted neon coral holo called Welcome to Whoville. This is most definitely my favourite from this box, It is bright and holo-y and fun.



This month also saw the return of Wick n Wax and a festive scented wax tart.

So there is the final box of 2015 and I told you it was a good one! Now if you haven't got your box there are still some available here - http://painttherainbowuk.bigcartel.com/ however the lovely Annette is now having a well earned Christmas break so wont ship until after Christmas.

I would like to say a huge Thank you to all the polish creators for all their hard work in creating the PTR polishes this year, they have all been amazing and I have loved them all.
Also the biggest thank you must got to the incredible Annette of Rainbow Connection for creating this box and also all the hard work she has done this year in bringing us so many beautiful polishes, I really do appreciate all that you do for us Polishoholics!

Finally to all you lovely readers thank you for taking the time to read my blogposts this year, I am still getting to grips with it but you have all been lovely in your comments and support.
Next year I plan to make my blog bigger and better and make time for lots more posts.

Barry M Molten Metal Swatches

Hello Again, Today on my blog I have swatches of the 5 new Barry M Molten Metal polishes. I never tried the original 4 which were released last year but I decided I liked the look of these so would give them a try. I got them on 2 for £7 from Boots but they are also available from Superdrug (I will leave links below) Barry M are probably my favourite high street brand and I like a lot of their finishes and different effects. What I also loved about these are the big, flat brushes because I really find they help get an even coat across the nail in minimal brush strokes. As with all the Barry M polishes I have tried I couldn't find any fault with the formula - they applied like a dream, I'd forgotten just how much I like them if I'm honest - they are just as amazing as some of my favourite indie brands. So the swatches - Blue Glacier - Well you must know me and blues by now and this one has definitely got the thumbs up from me! I think the name sums it up perfect

Poundland Make Up Gallery Nail Polish

Happy Sunday Nail Lovelies. A few weeks back I was in Poundland and I thought while I was there I would grab a few polishes and bits to review, for £1 each I thought i'd have a try. I settled on 3 of the pastel creme colours, a glitter, the base/top coat and a cuticle oil so in total £6 which is less that 1 of my favourite indie polishes! I started by applying the glitter to my little and index finger - I did this over a peel off base coat because I hate glitter removal! Peel off bases are amazing invention, I am currently using the Miss Sporty one which I have found pretty good, I don't really have the same polish on for long enough to do a good wear test though! Anyway the glitter I chose was a clear/silver holo, very pretty and very sparkly and I did like how it looked over my peach acrylics. How to apply Magpie Products

It's a new week and I hope you all have some gorgeous manicures planned. I was meant to post this on Friday but things got in the way but at least I am posting!! I will get on top of my blogging schedule soon...I promise!! So as a nail technician I like to use lots of different products and currently one of my most popular is Magpie Beauty glitters and dusts. These are the most amazing sparkly products that can really bling up a manicure, they are fab so today I'm going to show you how I use them with gel polish. I am going to show the application technique for glitter, dust and pigments. Here are the products I am using -  Gel Polish in Black, White and Pale Green  Magpie Products - Dust - Olive, Glitter - Eartha, Pigment - Izzy I only used my applicator and duster brush but I also have the detailer brush.
