Fab ur Nails - FUN 25 Swatches

Hi guys,

I'm back with another post using the next of the Fab ur Nails stamping plates kindly sent to me for review from the lovely Annette at Rainbow Connection.

If you have seen my reviews of the other plates (there are 6 in total and this is the 5th one I've played with) you will know that I have been 100% impressed with them - the image sizes are really good so it you have longer nails this is a brand to try, they are full of so much detail and really well etched which means they have produced brilliant results with all the stampers and polishes I have been using and finally there is a real variety of images so there is sure to be something for everyone.

Please check out some of my other posts where I have done a full test with various polishes and stampers but as I have covered that with those plates today I just have some swatches and nail art to show you.

SWATCHES -

I just did these quickly to show off some of the other gorgeous images on this plate. I used my trusty Fab ur Nails Jumbo Squishy Stamper and RC scraper for all of these and a variety of polishes from Esmaltes de Kelly, Colour Alike and Hit the Bottle - all brands that are available on Rainbow Connection.

You can see the variety just from these 8 images and there are so many things to do with them - I love a good cheat water marble image too! The 2nd image on blue has me inspired to do some Jeans nails with gold stitching and studs so they might feature soon.

MY MANIS

So for all these I actually used a different stamper - with my new shorter nails I used a tall, small clear stamper which I got from Rainbow Connection a while back. It picked up perfectly everytime though, I will leave some links at the end for my must have stamping goodies.

I used a base of EDK Dolly (white) and stamped with Painted Polish - Midnight Mischief
Barry M - Holographic Lights stamped with Painted Polish Stamped in Starfruit

The base polish for this is Colors by Llarowe Twinkle Toes which is the June POTM. I then reverse stamped using a variety of clear stampers - the outline it Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and i filled in with a small dotting tool and Colors by Llarowe Radioactive, The Bluest eyes in Texas and She Sells Seashells.

My 7 year old Nephew Ryan helped me settle on this one. I did a sponged ombre using Colour Alike Yellow Glow, Green Light and Cobalt Kick - these are great for an ombre because it only takes a couple of sponges to get full coverage. I double stamped with Midnight Mischief and EDK Andromeda.

So for this one I was going for an Oil on Water effect and I have to say I am really pleased with how it turned out! I used 1 coat of Midnight Mischief for the base and then stamped with EDK Orion, Roseta and Laguna (all from the holo nebula range) I then added a matte top coat. If adding a matte top coat I recommend top coating with your normal stamping TC first and then adding the Matte one so you don't smudge it.

I think I was tired with this one and was struggling to decide on a design but I'm happy with how it worked out. My base is Colour Alike Kind of white then I did a stamped ombre which I did on a diagonal using Hit the Bottle The yolk is on you, Lets go to the Peach and Psycho Pink - some of them needed a bit more blending but thats just the perfectionist in me!

Finally I did a vertical sponged ombre using Colour Alike Yellow Glow, Fuchsia Flash, Electric Orange and Purple Rain and double stamped with Kind of White and EDK Andromeda

And then because why not...I matted it!
