Indie Brand of the Week 3 Celestial Cosmetics

Hello all you Lovelies.

Sorry I am a day late with this post this week but I was busy yesterday, hopefully its worth the wait.

So as you all know I am a huge fan of Indie Brands and I'm always looking for new ones to try and thanks to the lovely Annette from Rainbow Connection I am never short of brands and polished to try!

So this week is another new brand for me and also a new brand to RC - I purchased these on the launch night a few weeks ago. It is Aussie Indie Brand Celestial Cosmetics.
Firstly I have to say I absolutely love the brands logo and I think that's what drew me to it but I can safely say the polishes don't disappoint.

But 1st a little bit about the brand - as I said they are an Aussie Brand and they are 5 free.

So these are the 2 I purchased from Rainbow Connection


1st up is Celebrate with NYX - This is a stunning aqua/turquoise linear holo.



So you can really see the holo in this polish I took 1 picture with flash and 1 without, both were taken in my light box.


The other polish had to be a blue and this is You Win or You Die - a gorgeous bright royal blue linear holo.



Again I took 1 flash and 1 no flash picture to show the holo goodness.

For my 1st polishes from this brand I was very happy, they are both beautiful colours.
They both had perfect coverage in 2 coats and I really liked the formula as it wasn't too thick or too thin which made it easy to apply.

Barry M Molten Metal Swatches

Hello Again, Today on my blog I have swatches of the 5 new Barry M Molten Metal polishes. I never tried the original 4 which were released last year but I decided I liked the look of these so would give them a try. I got them on 2 for £7 from Boots but they are also available from Superdrug (I will leave links below) Barry M are probably my favourite high street brand and I like a lot of their finishes and different effects. What I also loved about these are the big, flat brushes because I really find they help get an even coat across the nail in minimal brush strokes. As with all the Barry M polishes I have tried I couldn't find any fault with the formula - they applied like a dream, I'd forgotten just how much I like them if I'm honest - they are just as amazing as some of my favourite indie brands. So the swatches - Blue Glacier - Well you must know me and blues by now and this one has definitely got the thumbs up from me! I think the name sums it up perfect

Poundland Make Up Gallery Nail Polish

Happy Sunday Nail Lovelies. A few weeks back I was in Poundland and I thought while I was there I would grab a few polishes and bits to review, for £1 each I thought i'd have a try. I settled on 3 of the pastel creme colours, a glitter, the base/top coat and a cuticle oil so in total £6 which is less that 1 of my favourite indie polishes! I started by applying the glitter to my little and index finger - I did this over a peel off base coat because I hate glitter removal! Peel off bases are amazing invention, I am currently using the Miss Sporty one which I have found pretty good, I don't really have the same polish on for long enough to do a good wear test though! Anyway the glitter I chose was a clear/silver holo, very pretty and very sparkly and I did like how it looked over my peach acrylics. How to apply Magpie Products

It's a new week and I hope you all have some gorgeous manicures planned. I was meant to post this on Friday but things got in the way but at least I am posting!! I will get on top of my blogging schedule soon...I promise!! So as a nail technician I like to use lots of different products and currently one of my most popular is Magpie Beauty glitters and dusts. These are the most amazing sparkly products that can really bling up a manicure, they are fab so today I'm going to show you how I use them with gel polish. I am going to show the application technique for glitter, dust and pigments.
